The 4th of October is World Animal Day!

The 4th of October is World Animal Day! Since 1931 World Animal Day has been celebrated every 4th of October, the Feast Day of St. Francis of Assisi. St Francis is the patron saint of animals and the environment, both victims of human exploitation. There is still a lot to do, but there have been positive developments. Thanks to the support of broad sections of society FOUR PAWS has achieved significant improvements in animal welfare in the last few years. Every step in the right direction also increases human awareness that animals are living beings that deserve respect. With your support, FOUR PAWS continues to pursue its goal: a world without animal suffering. A lot has been achieved, but much more needs to be done. It is our responsibility to protect weaker life forms than our own. [more]

FOUR PAWS is cooperating with the BOS Foundation in Indonesia to provide sustainable solutions for orang-utans in need: Orangutans orphans are rescued, nursed back to health and sent to “forest school”, before being re-introduced into a protected forest.
